Type 1
Task
1. The similarities or the differences between ethnocentrism and cultural relativism.
Culturalism is an attitude that believe the nation / tribe is better than other nations / tribes, despised nations / tribes. Cultural relativism is an attitude about the culture of the nation / tribe that are not the same as the existing culture.
2. Three examples of culture shock.
• In Indonesia, still impolite if a woman is wearing short pants or skirts above the knee, as well as the shirt slightly open. So the views of those around us will be different for women who wear pants or short skirts.
* for foreigner they might feel weird when they have to wait a long time to wait in line and will likely be appropriated the queue. Different cultures that exist in the queue for their country make they feel uneasy.
* In Indonesian expect everybody to be on time for a meeting but don't appreciate being chided when they come late. Westerners may find this to be an issue, but complaining often only invites ill will and should, thus, be avoided.
